I am an artist and art educator who has been teaching and making art in and around New York City for over twenty-five years. I live in Kerhonkson, NY and teach nursery through 8th grade art at the High Meadow School in Stone Ridge. I believe that empathy and compassion are at the center of creative expression. I strive to create a safe atmosphere for the investigation of ideas, emotions, attitudes and beliefs, as well as the experimentation and mastery of art materials and techniques. I encourage students to have fun, take risks, and to value making mistakes. This develops trust in the art making process and produces spirited and masterful works of art.
